First Cargoscooters in operation in new Domino's store in Almere, the Netherlands. After two years of hard work and extensive testing Domino's Pizza has taken the cargoscooter in operation. The cargoscooter project is a project initiated and financed by Granturismo mobility. In addition to project partner and launching customer Domino's Pizza manufacturer Oxygen (link) and designagency Spingtime (link) were involved. The Dutch governement co-financed this project under the SSZ programme for developmaint of sustainable mobility.

75 out of the initial contract of 150 scooters have been delivered and the new store of Domino's in Almere was the scene for the official introduction. Domino's generel director for Holland Jeroen Berendsen named the introduction of the electric cargoscooter in his stores a major step in the further professionalisation of food delivery business. Customers want us to care about health and environment as much as possible. Using the electric cargoscooters where is this operational and economical viable is one step more in the right direction.

Dutch Minister of Environmental issues Mr. van Geel holds the chair of the European ministers of environment as of today for the next 6 months. On the picture below you see Mr. van Geel on the electric scooter Oxygen Lepton at a preparation conference at Madurodam with NGO's, governmental bodies, scientists and other organisations. At this event in The Hague July 12 Mr.van Geel made clear that sustainable mobility is a priority topic for him in his term as chairman. In a talk with a representative of Granturismo mobility he said that he was very positive about supporting the use of light electric vehicles like scooters, cargoscooters and electric trikes. Granturismo mobility was invited to join a meeting with the EU ministers of Environment in October in Amsterdam to demonstrate the newest product like cargoscooter and smarttrike.

Scooter firm to bring 100 jobs
The announcement that an Italian scooter maker is leasing a 6,500-square-foot space in Throop for its North American headquarters may be just the beginning of the company's investment in the region, officials said Tuesday.

Pre-production version of cargoscooter at Post-Expo
At the Brussels PostExpo (www.post-expo.com) Granturismo mobility and Oxygen will present their pre-production version of the CargoScooter. This model will look exactly like the model that has been taken into production. First delivery of the scooter to launching customer Domino's Pizza in the Netherlands is scheduled for the end of November. New orders coming in at this moment can be scheduled for delivery in Februari 2004.
